Senior Business Development Officers

Popular Leasing is actively seeking  Senior Business Development Officers for its Small Ticket Commercial, Small Ticket Medical and Capital Markets Group, headquartered in Ballwin, Missouri.

The ideal candidates will have 3- to 5-years sales experience in leasing , with a proven track record of successfully developing annual business volume. To excel in this position you will possess the analytical ability to structure and price sound leasing programs, have strong negotiating skills, and be a team player. You will need to be independent, highly motivated, with a strong desire to succeed, and have excellent communication skills. You will have a solid grasp on vendor-driven equipment leasing, principles of accounting, the credit approval process, documentation as well as related tax guidelines & pre-tax expensing benefits. You will have the freedom to generate new business anywhere in the U.S. in a diverse variety of markets. Not only will you be driven to execute new business development goals, but also qualify and prioritize new prospects along with servicing existing accounts.  Those with funding sales experience will receive top consideration.

As a Senior Business Development Officer with Popular Leasing, you will:

  • Secure new vendor relationships with qualified dealers, distributors and/or manufacturers of commercial equipment
  • Qualify and build on-going relationships with pre-existing and new vendors
  • Design leasing programs for vendor relationships that will provide Popular Leasing with a high percentage of lease transactions generated by the vendor
  • Provide sales training to vendors’ sales force as to how to use leasing as an additional sales tool
  • Achieve individual business development goals, including new sales, calling activity and business retention quotas
  • Work closely with V.P. Sales and Marketing Director to create marketing collateral and special programs for use either by the sales force of existing vendors or to generate new vendor relationships
  • Travel locally or nationally to cultivate customer relationships, meet with prospects at funding expositions or generate new leads at trade shows


  • Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Prior documented industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proven knowledge of funding instruments, marketing, customer service.
  • Strong business development, negotiation, strategic planning and sales goal skills
  • Solution oriented with creative ability to meet client needs and resolve concerns
